Filter 6.4 million companies by industry, instantly

The map now filters by industry. Pick a sector and it updates the moment it is clicked: no loading spinner, no page reload, no waiting for a server. Six and a half million companies, narrowed to the ones that matter, in real time.

The map filtered to technology and professional services across London, with the industry filter panel open and a live filtered count of 504,927 of 1,647,363.
Technology and professional services across London. The count updates the moment a category is ticked.

Seeing every company at once is useful for scale. Finding the right ones is what most people actually want: the plumbers in a postcode, the software firms in a city, the care providers across a county. The new industry filter does that directly on the map.

The register is organised with standard industry codes, and those codes are grouped into a tree of readable categories, from broad sectors down to specific trades. Tick a category and the map redraws to show only its companies, with the visible count updating alongside.

Instant, because it runs in the browser

The filtering happens on the device, not on a server. When a category is selected, the map already has what it needs to draw the result, so there is no round trip and no delay, however far the view is zoomed out. Panning and zooming stay just as smooth with a filter on as without one.

Active companies only

Alongside the industry tree is an "active companies only" switch. Dissolved and dormant companies still sit on the register, and for most purposes they are noise. One tick removes them from both the map and the export, leaving the businesses that are actually trading.

Share a filtered view

Any filtered view has its own link. Frame a city, choose a sector, and the resulting address can be shared or bookmarked; whoever opens it lands on exactly the same map, already filtered. The same links now sit behind the area-and-sector pages, so a search for a specific trade in a specific town opens straight onto those companies.

Then export

Whatever the map shows is what the export delivers. Narrow to an industry, frame an area, and the visible companies can be exported to CSV with their registered addresses, priced by how many there are. The filter turns the whole register into a targeted list in a few clicks.
